Major League Baseball (MLB) aprobó el roster del equipo de Panamá tras cumplir con los requisitos establecidos para el campeonato.
«No fue fácil, un trabajo muy duro, hubo mucha disposición, mucha entrega, se escogieron a los 28 peloteros que nos ayudarán a clasificarnos al World Baseball Classic 2023», dijo Ortiz.
Humberto Mejía, Randall Delgado, Enrique Burgos, Alberto Baldonado, Allen Cordoba, Rubén Tejada, Ariel Jurado, Davis Romero, Severino González y Jonathan Araúz han tenido la oportunidad de jugar en Grandes Ligas y ahora estarán con Panamá en la eliminatoria del Clásico Mundial.
Los equipos nacionales de Argentina, Brasil, Nicaragua, Nueva Zelanda, Pakistán y Panamá buscarán su pase al WBC, en un torneo con sistema de doble eliminación y que otorga dos cupos.
