Conmoción en el ciclismo ecuatoriano por el siniestro de Segundo Navarrete

El ciclista carchense de 37 años, sufrió un grave accidente de tránsito la ser atropellado cuando realizaba sus entrenamientos para la próxima Vuelta a Ecuador. Navarrete fue impactado en las calles de Machachi, cantón Mejía, provincia de Pichincha por un camión que se dió a la fuga.

La situación de salud del ciclista del equipo Saitel es crítica, pues se ha confirmado varias fracturas en las costillas y que ha perdido un riñón producto del choque, lo que podría poner fin a su carrera deportiva.

El equipo Saitel manifestó su indignación por el suceso al confirmarse que el conductor no ha sido detenido: “Lamentablemente el pésimo accionar de los agentes que toman parte, dejan en libertad a un inescrupuloso conductor, sabiendo el estado de gravedad del deportista”.

A estas declaraciones se suma las de Miryam Nuñez, quien ha sufrido en carne propia la imprudencia y la impunidad de los conductores en las carreteras ecuatorianas. “Acabo de visitar a Segundo Navarrete, víctima de atropellamiento mientras estaba entrenando, a causa del atropello perdió su riñón. No hay justicia, solo impunidad. Hasta el día hoy la persona que me atropelló no se ha hecho responsable. No a la impunidad”, escribió la campeona ecuatoriana en su cuenta de Twitter.
